Three Jaipur Dancers Celebrated International Dance Day

Samantha Weisburg

Swirls, lands, pauses, taps; strides, leaps, falls, tease; dance is freedom personified. It moves within us all and traces our most mundane activities: our walks, our gaze, the movement of our wrists, and how we breathe. Dance seeks the control of space through its most valuable instrument, the body. Like all art forms, it overrides the mechanics of language, placing a higher medium of expression in its place. In moments of sheer joy, dance embraces us, freeing us to taste bliss.
